Nine arrested over shipwreck disaster off Greece | DW News

Greek officials fear over 500 people may have been killed after a migrant boat capsized on Wednesday. The vessel had set off for Italy from Libyan shores a few days prior, with the boat sinking off the Greek coast.

Greek opposition politician Alexis Tsipras called for legal migration routes, after at least 78 people drowned and hundreds more went missing when a boat carrying migrants sank off the Greek coast.
